Won't have trouble scoring that's for sure. Lookin like too many OFD's on that blueline though

Giving a mid tier guy like Killorn $5M for multiple years is just buying problems. Every year there are wingers ti be had on the cheap, I would much rather give a 28yr old Drouin’s $2M one year deal then give a 34-year-old Killorn three year $5 million deal. That’s giving Toews away Hayton has one decent NHL season where he got inflated minutes on a horrible team in the same role Newhook scores over 50. Just not good asset management

I see no world in which the Yotes accept this trade.

In a world where... the Yotes somehow snag AM this summer, I can see Toews(with a likely extention) being a great fit and the Yotes paying a whole lot more. Not now though, still a lot of in house building needed before going after pending ufa's

You may be correct there but what are the actual chances AM goes anywhere this summer, I have a feeling they move Nylander and Marner but keep Matthews and Tavares.

Nylander would be gone in my world. I think if the Leafs plan to get the most out of AM34 trade wise, it's gotta be before July 1st when his nmc kicks in. I would keep AM34 as well but I think the leafs will be a bitter sweet spot of being a playoff team and having to pick to use AM34 as a rental or see what AM34 allows at the tdl

I agree, if I were in the GMs shoes for the leafs personally I would trade Matthews in a big name trade and keep Nylander and Marner. I think that pair with Tavares is solid, then use the Matthews trade to bring in some high quality players for the second line and picks.
