Would rather see the D get attention vs the first return a winger.

I agree, but I think they are unfortunately going to. It was just reported this morning that they like Laf, and based on the recent track record of Alvin and Rutherford, I wouldn't be surprised if they go for it.

Please explain how that trade isn’t close. 11 OA for Lafreniere at this point is fair, if not an overpay by the Canucks
Garland >> Goodrow as well

Because NYR can't buy themselves a team. It needs to come from within. Secondly that 11OA isn't going to become anything in NYR with its bad development history. Laffy, Chytil and Kakko all need consistant top 6 min and powerplay time. At least have one whole season in the role they where drafted as before throwing them away. And Goodrow probably be a causality but he is a great player, for what he brings, he does it flawlessly.

Its your opinion that the 11 OA is fair for Laffy and my opinion of that is that it is absurd. But doesn't really matter since Laffy isn't being traded. And Goodrow is a better all around player than Garland with a better contract, so no thanks on Garland as well.

Goodrow is a bottom 6 player with 4 years left at a high cap hit for the caliber of player he is. Garland is a good second liner, who’s better both offensively and defensively than Goodrow, and signed at a fair price for 3 more years. So no thanks on Goodrow, you’re stuck with him and his contract

You're opinion, which I disagree with. Rangers happily keep Goodrow over Garland every day of the week.

Goodrow isnt the issue. Laf is.

Goodrow's contract is a joke at how easy it will be for the rangers to get out of. His buyout actually raises our cap ceiling this year.
We either get an asset or buy him out.

Laf is a better player than garland and Laf is likely going to be signed to a bridge deal. He'll be cheaper for the next 2 years.
I like garland. Im not giving up laf for him. And while 11 is a nice sweetener. Its not an immediate help which is the issue.
The rangers are in win now, not win 2 years from now.

Hard pass. Goody is still positive value, cause he's glue as opposed to Garland @3x 5m lol
