Calgary wouldn't trade Andersson for Nylander 1 for 1. Term and cap hit heavily swing the value in Andersson's favor

Tempting, but still doubt the Ducks move McTavish and Zellweger

And another decline. McTavish is not in play, not for Nylander, nor Marner, nor Matthews. Neither is 2OA, or any of the young core.

The Ducks would definitely trade Zegras over McTavish imo

If he came with ANY extension (amount irrelevant for 6 seasons or more), I'd accept that offer for Auston Matthews. I think that he's probably an upgrade on Mason McTavish, and the other pieces are expendable in this context.

This doesn't seem like a "re-tool" but more of a full rebuild.

Calgary Passes: Anderson is a top RD on a cheap contract for 3 more years> Nylander is a UFA in 1. Mangiapane > Half retained on Brodie who we didn't resign
Anaheim is rebuilding, why give up your future Matthews for the current one?
Arizona cannot afford to pay the players it has right now. They have over 21MM in LTIR contracts just top reach the cap floor. Those are insured (so they don't need to pay them actual money). There is a reason they are in a perpetual rebuild.

If you look at Marner's salary its less than his cap hit.

I put that Nylander signs an extension as part of the trade

I like Nylander, but even if he does resign it puts a gaping hole on Calgary's D line that can't be filled easily, and certainly not for Anderson's AAV or calibre.
