I don't know. Just thought the value from a hockey trade standpoint was fair. I'm sure the next GM will be able to navigate the cap. Off season has alot of moving parts.

2.45 more specifically but they go -1 in roster players and already need to move out about 1.5M to be cap compliant currently

Simply put. Marner to Calgary is not at all realistic. He's a lot more similar to Gaudreau in playerstyle than he is to Huberdeau but he's still far to similar to Huberdeau to be paying that much for both to essentially not shoot the puck. Don't get me wrong, fantastic player bad fit

Not shoot the puck? When was the last time you watched him play?

Im exaggerating, I know Marner gets a decent amount of assists off rebounds or tips from his shot, Huberdeau shoots too but they are players who still both tend to pass first.

He's been a bit more 50/50. But Calgary gets plenty of shots. They don't get quality shots. With a new coach and marner and huberdeau on seperate lines it would work great. The issue is the pieces it would take to get marner just aren't available.

Huberdeau-lindholm-tofolli
Mangiapane -Kadri-marner
Pelltier-Backlund-dube

Would be insane.

Meh, I think its a "too many eggs in one basket" kind of thing.
Like I understand the upside but I think it's just not plausible and a poor distribution of assets

No thanks, Neither player is a position of need and the late 1st doesn't justify moving 2 guys who were quite important for us last season and likely to be the case again this season as we grow and hopefully sell high at the TDL.
