A 4-year cap dump is going to cost a lot more than that.

Funny enough Zadina doesn't appear to be a top 6 player, but if you wanna say throw him in the top 6, he had great results in the WJC with Chytil.

Also everyone seems to think goodrow is gonna require the rangers to give up a haul, and if his contract wasn't structured the way it is, I'd agree.
But his buyout is perfectly structured. This isn't a buyout proof contract. This is a contract that gives the rangers MORE cap on top of opening up his entire hit, and then its a miniscule cap hit when the cap actually make big jumps in the next few years.
That said Zadina is locked to a reasonable deal, and has a high pedigree, so I could see him being worth more than this.
