As stated earlier tonight, Hawks decline. Can't imagine they want anything to do w/ Backstrom after his last two seasons. At age 36 and after 1100 games, fair to assume his best seasons are in the rear view mirror. Taking out the 4th back to Caps doesn't make this trade any better for the Hawks.

Yeah, this is a giant NO. Colton Dach is part of the rebuild, he costs a 2nd to have the Hawks consider moving him. Backstrom with a $9M cap hit is a dump at this point in his career.
