Don't you know you can't trade draft picks to Tampa? They don't care about draft picks. It's also impossible to trade those picks for a different player of interest as well, can't happen. You could offer 9 overall from Detroit and it's still a non starter since they don't care about picks.

Detroit passes, We don't need Colton and we're not giving up those picks for him. We already have tons of players like him within our organization.

I wouldn't say we need Colton but he would be a nice player to acquire. He has a really good shot and plays physical. I believe he is a pretty decent 200 foot player but I don't know exactly. Acquiring him would be about taking a chance that he could excel with a greater roll as he doesn't get much for top 6 minutes in Tampa. He's still young enough to be around long term and shouldn't cost too much money. A second round pick is a lottery ticket, at least this way, even if he doesn't take another step forward, you at least have a solid middle six forward that can play centre. I do always have the hope that that's pick could be another Jason Robertson or Nikita Kucherov.

Julien Brisebois would be foolish to do it.

Regardless of the trade value, is no one going to say anything about Zadina playing on the top line? On his off hand too?

Hagel will be pissed. Zadina is a tremendously consistent player. He scores once a month.
