Excellent trade proposal, first time seeing it and it makes sense for both teams IMO

Because of the cap savings Pittsburg would get, I would say they add. Nothing big, maybe like the jersey third? Something along those lines

I don't hate it - I think it would depend on what they do to fill out the rest of the team and who they are able to bring in to replace Guentzel. Pretty sure COL has cap issues though

Oh totally. I would assume if Jake gets moved then Zucker would be a priority to re-sign, plus you'd have to push to add someone like Bertuzzi in free agency. Of course, this doesn't even get into what you do with Petry, Granlund, or Carter.

That makes sense. I could see that, or possibly swapping prospects to address areas of need.

For sure. I'm thinking they're bringing Zucker back no matter what - just my guess. But Bertuzzi would probably be target #1 if they trade Guentzel I agree.

It makes too much sense just to buyout Granlund in my opinion. Petry is fine - he had a good season overall - and with his NTC you'll probably have a difficult time finding anywhere to send him without paying to do so. Unfortunately we're most likely stuck with Carter lol

Don't hate it for the Avs but don't love it either. I don't think it's a smart trade however. If they move Toews then they really should be looking for that 2C coming back as an absolute priority.

That's fair. I suppose some of what the Avs do will depend on how they approach Newhook and Compher, correct?

I doubt JTC will be back. He'll want a pay day after his best season is what we're all thinking, and it's always risky paying a guy who has a career year in a contract year. Stranger things have happened though. What happens with forwards will partly rely (imo) on whether Toews extends and what they sign Byram to. Then one of the DT/SG/BB trio will be traded to try to acquire a 2C or at the least forward help. Then this trade might get considered once all that has been sorted out and if a 2C doesn't look likely. I don't see Newhook beng traded unless it's as part of a bigger deal for a really good 2C with term or a package involving another young C coming back. He also shouldn't be too expensive to re-sign as an RFA on a comparative down year.
