More reports have come out from Russo and Duhatschek "We've heard the Sabres have shown interest in Connor Hellebuyck. Winnipeg would want a young team-controlled assets in return". Seems like it's more than just speculation. What does he get as a return?

    If you're receiving Ostlund (not Rosen), we'd want DeMelo coming back.

    Does Dillon not get it done?

    There’s a kid playing in Winnipeg right now that might be of interest.

    Could substitute him for the pick 13 mentioned in the trade ideas above

    Right, and thats why we knew the meier thing was for real because it wasnt just "oh they have some interest", insiders and media were actually staking their rep by firmly suggesting the devils were making offers.

    Real Fitzinterest-
    Meier
    Tkachuk (offered 2nd overall)

    Gamesmanship-
    Gaudreau
    Fiala
    Tarasenko

    (Problem for some fans is that we get all pumped up for one guy or another. Always best to just listen to what GM says…they usually do what they say).

    I would imagine those are the pieces the Jets are after for a Vezina caliber goalie.

    Adams has been goalie shopping in the bargain bin since he took over. Guess we will see.

    Adam's did try to pick up Murray to no fault of his own I think after that he panic a little.

    Murray wasn't supposed to be any kind of good though, I think we were gonna give ott pick 16 (that we used for ostlund) and they were gonna give us Murray and 7. So adams was gonna try to squeeze some game out of him, but we were swapping 16 for 7 for our troubles.

    No.

    Going to have to work because demelo alone is worth a late 1st so yeah jets would want extra on top of 13th upl and ostlund

    Ostlund, as 2022/16OA with a positive year of development in the SHL, is worth more than a late first (2023/25OA) both in terms of raw talent and timeline. I understand that you may not have walked to the podium and said his name -- but he's a very valuable piece.

    Assuming both players would re-sign with Buffalo on reasonable terms, I see the values as:

    Hellebuyck >= 2023/13, UPL, B-prospect
    Ostlund >= DeMelo

    with the inequalities roughly balancing (maybe only slightly in favor of Buffalo).

    Jets would only make a move like this if they were convinced that they couldn't bring Hellebuyck back. If he could be kept, we wouldn't even be talking. With all the GMs knowing that, I can't imagine that any team would offer a better all-futures deal.

    Okay so 13th upl ostlund and some lower tier prospect for demelo and helle should be about bang on then

    I'd say yes to that. Others will scream in pain or jump for joy. As you might expect. :-)
