Because Marner has no term. That’s why Toronto won’t trade him, they won’t get fair value back.

Dahlin is an RFA they'll extend him before his contract is up. Marner is a UFA he'll go w/e he feels like when his contract is up.

Dahlin is worth 2 marners easily. So right there it's a no go. And on top of that you have the workhorse from whitehorse...

Bad, very bad trade for Buffalo. They are giving up the best asset, while taking an over paid winger.
