Based on a pod I listened to

Description
Mark Divver went on the Skate Pod to talk prospects and my takeaway from it was that the three guys the bruins can realistically expect to make the NHL roster from providence are Lauko, McLaughlin, and Merkulov. Everyone else needs more time in the AHL. So this is me working from those assumptions.

Sign Acciari to be the vet presence on the 4th line since he can slot in at center if you need him to.

Trade Gryz for Rutta and a pick. Keep going back to this trade cause I just feel like it makes sense fore both teams. Pens get a top 4 LHD that can slot next to Letang and keep Petterson on the second pair where he belongs, Bruins get solid RHD depth in a summer where any decent depth defenseman is probably gonna get overpaid.

Trade Ullmark to the Devils. They get the soon to be vezina winner to play in front of Schmid while he develops, don't lose any of their top prospect. Bruins get a top 9 caliber wing prospect and a young, cheap bottom pair defenseman who looked good this season.

Forbort dumped on anyone that wants him.

Scratches are just place holders for any min contract guys, I know Callahan isn't ready.

Honestly would be happy with this. I know it's unrealistic but I'm hopeful for a hall move to extend Bertuzzi.

I'll take the Grzelcyk deal, but I disagree with the notion of Pettersson belonging on the 2nd pair.

Devils probably aren’t open to moving either piece.

Bahl really came along in 2nd half and is already being seen as the in-house replacement for Graves’s minutes. We have Luke too, but Bahl has earned his time.

Gritsyuk doesn’t get the attention as other NJD prospects but his resume has been impressive. He is currently without a contract in KHL (RFA with Avangard) and last we heard, NJD wanted him to stay one more year there since he has been developing nicely. So will be interesting if they bring him over this summer. Or maybe sign him and loan him back. But does not sound like he is being offered up as a trade chip.

(Also Georgii is my dark horse Calder choice for 2023-24).

I could go either way on Hall vs Bertuzzi, Bert is better fit with Pasta, but Hall is a much more complete 200 foot player. I think in the long run the amount of chances that Bert and Pasta on a line together would allow against probably negates any extra chances that they create together. If that makes any sense.

Fair enough, I was more trying to say this would keep the Pettersson-Petry pairing together, Pettersson is good enough for the top pair if that's where you guys want him.

I’d decline the Gryz deal as a B’s fan. I wouldn’t want to take on Rutta. Rather take 3rd round pick from someone else than 2 years of Rutta for a slightly higher pick. Don’t need to help the Pens by taking on salary.

I listened to the pod as well and it made it clear we don’t have any real defense prospects. Need to get a few more picks with our moves. Mark also seems to want keep everyone in Providence lol. He is probably right with our biggest prospects aren’t ready for the NHL roster which dampens our excitement for this year.

Disappointing that we didn’t try to do more with Zboril or Achan down the stretch this year with everything wrapped up in regular season.

I like the idea of taking Rutta back just cause we have literally zero RHD depth behind Carlo and Mcavoy and this current free agent class is so thin that I think any halfway decent right shot defenseman is gonna get overpaid. So like Rutta at 2x2.75 won't look bad after guys like Gudas, Clifton, and Mayfield all get 3+ mil per year.
