I think CBJ would do well to get Sam Girard. He's got great PK stats and is very flexible.

I think Colorado is the blueprint for building our blueline going forward and having a player with that experience would be a boost to the room.

I can stomach this value most certainly but I wonder what his value might actually be.

The biggest issue i have for this is it really limits our window. Hall and oreilly are already past their prime and really aren't the game changers they once were. I'd rather see us get players who are in their prime and gives us another 5 years till the mack makar window starts declining.

Absolutely agree our FO seems to be using Colorado as a blueprint. Hopefully we can take a similar jump forward this coming season like Colorado did in 2017-18 after their miserable 2016-17.

Yea fair enough. Ive really liked Bennett as a trade target for a while now but I doubt they move him after their playoff/cup run. Theres not much else out there in that age range. Hayes, Henrique, Kuznetsov, Scheifele, etc are all in their early 30s and will take much more value to get in a trade. Roslovic is young but only 1 year until UFA and hes not even 2C caliber

if you were to follow the same route that you've got here, konecny could be a good replacement for hall, same age range as the rest of the core and can slide up and down from 1&2. As for center it's tough solid 2C's go for a premium and no one really wants to get rid of them if they got them. Oreilly wouldn't necassarily be bad for 3 years since he can slide down to 3C if newhook can make the jump to 2C eventually. If not i think moving him for the 2C is the best way to go

Konecny is good but I dont know if I would give up a haul for him when Landeskog is set to come back next season, that would leave them with 5 top 6 wingers. I doubt they could extend him either with Toews, Rantanen, and Georgiev (or another starter) needing new contracts by then. I think its better to go the budget route with Hall and keep the futures to fill the holes later down the line. Konecny is definitely better than Hall but I think Hall is a bit underappreciated now. Boston plays him <16 mins per game with PP2 time. I think putting him back in the top 6 and on PP1 he can really bounce back
