Can't see Canes giving up two good players including their # 1 centre, and a first for one year of Matthews.
Way too much for the Avs to give up for those two Leafs.

Don't you know Leafs players are worth twice all other players because they played in the "center of the hockey universe"?

TML fans taking the MTL mantle for insanely over valuing their own player.

I have to say as a non-North American I always expected Canadians to be more sane and the 'Yanks' (you all are to us, north or south of the Mason-Dixon line) to be the ones who would be ridiculous, but in hockey scenarios it would appear to be the reverse!

I mean I get fans think guys on their team are great, but some of the nonsense here doesn’t even make for good discussion. In the off season it is pretty well established that the guys getting moved for a song to clear space are wingers. Defenseman are always valuable even guys that are just solid 3-4 guys. At the deadline guys are more valuable because you are going for it how else to explain guys getting the return they did. I dunno I like talking trades it’s fun but you come out and just throw some utter nonsense out it takes the fun out.

Like I said to a guy on another thread, at least try to get somewhere close or else why bother? I mean, I agree with his point that it's all subjective (who would have foreseen the Jeannot return for example but I'd call that a serious outlier) but even so it has to be somewhere within the realms of reality, no? Thing is folk seem to think the guys on their team are great, even when they're trading them for not being great, and knowing so, and then expecting ludicrous returns....that's the part I don't get.....
