Initial Creation Date: May 25, 2023
Published: May 25, 2023

Description
Threw in lucic in there to give the team some toughness and protect the younger kids. Also figuring there’s 0% chance Fabbri stays healthy all year and some players will likely miss games so he’ll still get a good chunk of games

If he’s not complete crap maybe a team grabs him for a pick for the playoffs

The jets have decent prospect depth. They need either win now players or high picks. Mid-late 1st rounders won’t help anytime soon with lambert, Lucius, mcgroarty, rashevsky, and chibrikov all being further in their development. Maybe a d prospect would help but again, need top end, not just top 4.

Therefore, the jets will keep 18 oa and hopefully draft a high end piece. They might move up, but I highly doubt they’d move down.

You are right Winnipeg will keep that pick because even in a deep draft like this is no one is giving up a projected top pair dman for that pick.

I think you misunderstood what I meant by the 2nd part. I’m not saying the jets will get that d-man in a trade. Quite the opposite actually. I’m saying moving down won’t give them an elite potential forward or top end potential d-man. Trading down doesn’t help them as it gives them a worse chance at acquiring that. 18 oa could be the destination of a caller in a deep draft. The jets got Connor at 17 oa in the deep 2015 draft. They have a good shot at adding an elite tier player even at 18 oa. Not much of a chance at 28 unless they really hit it out of the park

I guess I didn't understand. You are right unless Pellikka or possibly Reinbacher is there, you won't be getting to be a top pair dman at 17 or 18. There will be some good Dmen available there but not top pair good.

Agreed. But at 18 there’s still a sliver of a chance someone high end drops. No chance at 28. Which is why the jets don’t take this.

Tbh, the misunderstanding is my fault, I didn’t explain too well.
