Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Max Pacioretty signs for $1.5M with incentives to get up to $3M.

Lindholm trade is of similar value to players of his caliber. Think Horvat trade. Contract signed is about the same so Carolina is okay with trading a 1st for a player who would not be a rental. I am not sure if Calgary would do this trade, but if he won't sign they have to move him.

WAY overshot the value on Lindholm. Dude had 60 points. look closer to 6.5 and drop Morrow. Maybe include the Philly 2nd, but this is an overvaluing of the player.

Pacioretty isn't old enough for performance bonuses, and he's already lost the boot and will be ready for camp. Why is he on LTIR?

Rumblings out of Calgary are that Elias Lindholm is looking at the Bo Horvat deal, So you're looking at 8.5Mx8 to sign Lindholm at the very least.

Flames aren't accepting that offer and good luck signing Lindholm for under 8

Pacioretty isn't on LTIR, he's on IR.

Lindholm also was a PPG with 42 goals the year before. He's not taking a small contract off one down year. $8M is a perfectly acceptable number for a 2C. As for the return, it's more than fair. A late first is a Ryan Suzuki caliber prospect. Not exactly lighting the NHL on fire is he? Carolina is trading a late 1st, a B+ prospect, and at best a 3rd line center for a PPG caliber player. That perfectly reasonable.

Basing lindholms skill off points is the most casual hockey fan thing you could do.

Lindholm is an very good 2 way Center, who has an accurate shot and is good on the draw.

Basing his value off a down year as a whole for Calgary isn’t the way to do it

Okay, why is he on IR? He's going to be healthy way before the start of the season.

So, the fact he was on a PPG pace playing with Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Tkachuk, he's worth 8 million a year? No. You're overrating the player. You're also underrating Morrow, the kid whose breaking Cale Makar's college records... this is an awful trade for Carolina

Okay, let's no base it on points.

He's not special defensively, he's not a great play driver, he's on the smaller size, his underlying numbers aren't great. I'd much rather take his totals from the year he didn't spend playing with Matthew Tkachuk and Johnny Gaudreau than watching him be a passenger on that line.

I have doubts that Pacioretty is ready to go by the start of the season. We will see. He's coming off back to back Achilles injuries. No reason to rush the guy back. I also think you are grossly overrating Morrow.

He's already out of the boot. Recover time is 6-8 months, it happened in January, he'll be ready by August at the latest. There were rumors he could be ready for the finals if the series was to go 6/7.

I think you're grossly overestimating Lindholm. He's a player that has never had a good season without playing with Gaudreau and Tkachuk.

Was lindholm not just a selke finalist? I believe that award or to be voted for that award you have to be pretty darn good defensively.

Also outside tkachuck, neither Gaudreau or lindholm had similar seasons to the one previous, oh well lindholms linemates we’re getting rotated constantly throughout the season.

Also since when is 6’1 200lbs considered small?

I do enjoy passively seeing the comments from Caniac2000 you’re both responding to. There is a reason that poster is on my ignore list.

Lindholm is a prime target for the Canes. I just have some concerns they would truly commit the term that will be required to re-sign him. He would be a perfect top 6 centerman for our system

You are way undervaluing Lindholm LMAO. 8M is an underpayment. Unless of course you think Aho is overpaid too.

30th OA, Drury, and a 2nd doesn't start the conversation for getting him. A top prospect is a must with that late of a pick being offered. Lindholm is worth more than Horvat and look what he got

That is a fair concern as he will be 29 in December. The other option I see is trading for Kevin Hayes with some salary retained. Either way, they need to upgrade the 2nd center position.

Im not sure Hayes would be a C with the Canes.
