Trades
1.
DET
  1. Keller, Clayton
  2. Schmaltz, Nick
Additional Details:
ARI is going to be bad for a few years (Shocking, i know), so they are looking for futures. Wings have lots of D prospects, ARI needs D prospects ( I believe), so they make a deal work.
ARI
  1. Edvinsson, Simon
  2. Hanas, Cross
  3. Viro, Eemil
  4. 2023 1st round pick (NYI)
  5. 2023 1st round pick (DET)
Additional Details:
Situation: Players DET wanted at 9 are all off the board, players left in 1st round don't move their needle much. They decide to take 1st Rds and go after top ARI forwards to fill needs.
DET make this move to try to get out of the 'murky middle' and try to get top talent seeing their draft lottery luck has been horrible.

Don't kill me over details of trade. But lets discuss if this is close, or what would it actually take
2.
CGY
  1. Johansson, Albert
  2. 2024 3rd round pick (DET)
Additional Details:
B Level D Prospect, and a 3 Rounder.

I'm not a fan of the ARI trade. I feel like you can get a guy with nearly Keller's ceiling around 9oa this year, and that Schmaltz won't cost a significant amount. Giving up Ed and 9oa in this trade is way too much for me.

That still doesn't get both players.

Clayton Keller = Simon Edvinson+Detroit 2023 1st round pick (9th overall)+New York islanders 2023 1st round pick (17th overall)

Nick Schmaltz > Emil Viro+Cross Hanas.

And there's no way we're trading both Simon Edvinsson and Albert Johansson. It would be one not both.

God no. Helluva a player, but Edvinsson is a helluva prospect.
Johansson for Vladar straight up would be a questionable move.

The overvaluing of Clayton Keller on this site is alarming. Detroit would never give up #9, #17 & Edvinsson for any player that is assumed to be available in trade right now and that is certainly an overpayment for Keller.

I’d pass on the trade.

I heard the same podcast and I think they are dead wrong in their evaluation here.

Edvinsson or Kasper should go nowhere.

Schmaltz is always hurt and not worth it for any price
Keller is small and overpriced. Unless it's reasonable I say no

Wouldn't sign any of the guys except gudas you mentioned

Vladar for a 3rd is good Enough, no need to include Albert

I agree - didn't like the Edvinsson part of the deal. But thought I'd throw it out there to see what it looked like.

But it was interesting to think of them using both 1st rounders to do something big.

Calgary agrees

As for the Arizona trade, it gives Detroit a 3 year window to contend at the price of two high 1sts. I see Detroit as a playoff team taking a divisional spot with that roster, but the inexperience in the playoffs will keep them from being a contender.

Arizona would consider it, but they could potentially get more assets in 2 different trades.

The free agent signings seem about right, but I don't think the Gudas contract will be good in the last 2 years.

My thoughts exactly. Why in the world would we just hand AJ over? Now way, shape or form am I giving up Edvisson at this point in the rebuild
