Initial Creation Date: May 26, 2023

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
A new era is upon the flyers and step 1 is shipping out players needing new scenery, those who do not align with flyers timeline, and correcting any move chuck fletcher made. A roster of youth under torts for next 2 years and then maybe you've got something brewing

The flyers revamped the front office with the new understanding that this crisis will not be solved in one year. Next year is technically year 3 of the rebuild after picking 5 and 7 and they will surely not be any lower with coots and cam back. I gave York the bag like Samuelsson in Buffalo, extended Cates who will likely be a huge factor in the middle 6 for years and gave frost a moderate bridge deal after a breakout January to end of season run

1.
PHI
  1. Hakanpää, Jani
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (DAL)
  3. 2023 4th round pick (DAL)
DAL
  1. Deangelo, Anthony ($2,500,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Dallas gets RH puck moving PP defensemen who with the right competent defensive partner that Dallas has on the left side can return him to form to fill a void which they clearly lack. 50% retainment and a 1.5m cap dump in Hakanpaa for a 2nd/4th seems fair. IF need be slide it to a 2024nd
2.
PHI
  1. 2023 7th round pick (ANA)
  2. 2025 2nd round pick (TBL)
Additional Details:
The flyers are loaded at RW and Allison just didnt have the season many expected. Seeler had a year out of no where so take advantage of it now and sell high
TBL
  1. Allison, Wade
  2. Seeler, Nick
  3. 2023 4th round pick (DAL)
  4. 2023 6th round pick (OTT)
Additional Details:
Tampa does what they do best: poach low cap impact players with immediate impact to fill out roster
3.
PHI
  1. 2023 1st round pick (CBJ)
Additional Details:
This one well yea is uhhhh interesting. A chance at a 1C in Fantilli/Carlsson is worth the price. Gauthier in the pipe has played more LW than C in IIHF and World Juniors. Cates offensive numbers do not match what he could produce at LW but we needed centers last season

In this trade the flyers hold onto #7 but likely they will need to move that to make this work. IF not as Jonesy metioned "Build back end" take Reinbacher at 7 or trade back and then take him
CBJ
  1. Brink, Bobby
  2. Hayes, Kevin ($3,571,428 retained)
  3. Lycksell, Olle
  4. Provorov, Ivan
  5. 2024 1st round pick (FLA)
Additional Details:
The big question is whether CBJ would really move out. This package hits needs at C, LD, and gives two high upside prospects, brink being one of the flyers best. Hayes at 50% retainment is most certainly incredible value at 3.5m.
4.
PHI
  1. Myers, Tyler
  2. 2023 4th round pick (NYR)
  3. 2024 4th round pick (NJD)
Additional Details:
Canucks gain 6m of cap space for two mid round picks
VAN
  1. Ellis, Ryan
Additional Details:
Ellis career is over he is a LTIR contract like Voracek to AZ. This sort of deal was rumored so just spitballing
5.
PHI
  1. Weegar, MacKenzie
Additional Details:
The flyers RHD situation is an absolute disaster. York is prob gonna not be a right side d man this year if they really do care about development. Weegar, Reinbacher, Risto for next 5 years sounds a lot better than DeAngelo, Risto, Attard

This is most certainly a pipe dream for an elite Dman who likely does not fit flyers timeline and would not waive a brand new NMC for this shit show
CGY
  1. Attard, Ronnie
  2. Farabee, Joel
  3. O'Brien, Jay [Reserve List]
  4. 2025 1st round pick (PHI)
  5. 2025 2nd round pick (TBL)
Additional Details:
Odds Weegar's available after Sutter firing are slim but who knows what flames will do rebuild, retool, etc

I like most of these (nailed the RFA contracts on the head) but I think we would have to give 7 for Columbus to even consider moving down. I also think for a few of these the other team is giving a bit too much but a trade could be made with tweaks

CBJ arent moving 3OA for this package.

Everything being sent to us is, at best, a short-term fix that won’t make CBJ much better.

Hakanpaa isn’t really a cap dump. He struggles with teams that play with speed but he’s still a decent bottom pair guy on a decent contract. Miller would be the guy we would be looking to move if adding an offensive RHD. Tho I’m sure they’re hoping Nils improves his play without the puck enough to be that guy. Lumbus ain’t doing that lol

I don't see Weegar moving or being available in this offseason. As you said a pipe dream.

Tanev is an option if you want a very good RD. He's definitely the best at defending out of all of the Flames D. The 1 year remaining, age, and injury history don't seem like a great fit with the Flyers.
