I don't know if the Hawks accept or not on this one but if it were me, I accept it. We got what we needed in the Debrincat trade at the time and this proposal seems somewhat fair imo.

DeBrincat isn't going back to Chicago, Plus a 1st that's 3 drafts away isn't going to cut it.

I think the Hawks accept that trade against their better judgment if you swap Kurashev for someone like Dickinson or Blackwell. I think Kurashev is a long-term asset in a middle 6 role for the Hawks, and they'd rather move on from someone who might help OTT more now but not be part of the future plans. Hopefully the 2025 TOR pick is low and the Hawks are ramping up at that point, and I can see them being comfortable with a 27 year old Brinksy making $$$ in 2025.

I don't see why he wouldn't now, and the hawks would probably want him back, now that they have a good player like Bedard on their team, and Toronto's pick in 2025 is likely going to be lower than one might think.

Kitty is awesome & I would personally prefer to see him in a Hawks sweater than a Sens (or any other for that matter) sweater. However KD has been nothing if not consistent in his message: the Hawks are just starting out in the rebuild & they are not taking short cuts. This type of trade is what you do when the kids are getting their feet under themselves & figuring out how to play at the NHL level, not now. It is a pleasant thought nonetheless.

Trading for Cat would be a total 180 from everything GM Davidson has said repeatedly about the rebuild. I guess anything is possible but I can't see this happening. Especially if no extension is in place prior to the trade.
