no way he waives to ari. I would imagine toronto with a pick for this years draft.

Here's the problem with some players that have M NTCs. They would only have good teams on their trade list...almost all have no cap. Leafs don't have the cap for 3.6m 3rd/4th liner, and I imagine any team that is on his trade list thinks the same thing. And four of Goodrow? Just too much cap to take on when it's so unknown what the future cap will be. I believe 15 teams this years don't have the maximum cap this season due to bonuses from last season.

Yeah it sucks. Would hate to see another buyout hurting the rangers in next few years, igor contract in 2 years will be massive

I think some offer sheets should happen. Due to cap reasons, Rangers could certainly lose one of Miller or LAF if some team puts in a 4.3m offer sheet that costs a 2nd rounder. Yeah buyouts often hurt, just kicking the can down the road...(like a debt ceiling which we've heard about recently)

LOL exactly like that.
I wouldnt mind seeing miller go rather than Laf.
Sad that the 2 biggest hockey markets leafs/rangers always in turmoil

He'd make $159k more in '23-'24, $156k more in '24-'25, $112k more in '25-'26, and $77k more in '25-'26. Arizona would also be a favorable tax situation were he to be bought at. There are 500k reasons to waive for ARI.

Buyouts do suck...but if NYR are forced that way with Goodrow it is much more palatable than most. The first 2 years they actually gain Cap above his salary...then of the following 6 years, only 1 year has a really punishing dead cap hit- but that's the year where the team is fresh out of the contracts of Trouba and Panarin. That all said- still better if possible to move him, even if it is a slight pay to move.

To think entertainers in this case Goodrow, pay so much in personal income tax isn't true. Goodrow or any Ranger don't pay their entire state tax to New York since they don't work the entire year in New York. Gee, why don't ALL UFAs just go begging to play in Arizona if it was so much better financially?

I just love how delusional Rag fans keep insisting that Goodrow would waive for Arizona, Yeah we don't think so.

Just buyout Goodrow and keep the pick. His contract was literally structured to save the team money in case they need to buy him out.

Why do so many think that Jones would take a cut in pay to move up from Hartford?
