well, you can think that, and normally you may be right. But WPG is not a franchise that rebuilds, so they are going to try and contend every year. You know that is true with their ownership group.
Next, Rick Bowness is a great coach when it comes to getting everything out of his dmen. There is a very good possibility he can get Provy to that next level, which would make that 18th OA pick worth it. Odds are you're not gonna find the talent Provy has with that pick and it's not like WPG can wait 2/3 years while guys like Connor, Scheifele, Ehlers, Lowry, Morrissey, Pionk, etc etc, are wasting their careers. Most of those guys are in their late 20's or early 30's already, and this is what teams do to maximize the now while sacrificing a little on the future.
Stop thinking and posting rationally. haha
I agree with much of what you wrote, but I'm just hoping the impossible and that Chevy is no longer the GM of the Jets and someone smarter is and they rebuild. The team dynamics / personality / locker is really messed up. It's not a good mix.
Chevy has some good players, but they aren't a "winning team". Anyone who knows sports knows you need to find the right players for the right spots with the right mix / fit.
The Jets don't have that and anyone who watches the Jets knows this.
Again... you are probably correct in what happens, but I will keep hoping something different happens.
