Can't you see how this guy is just so far ahead of your thinking and needs to be hired by an NHL yesterday. And how bringing in Sammy at 3.5 completely fixes the goalie situation. And that letting Marchy Chinny and KJ walk for free is a long term gain for the team.

Unless their goal is to get heavier and some vet leadership. Bran is a bit on the lighter side for a D man while Guddy brings some time to answer the bell. Two very different players. Guddy would let brady be even more well brady lol

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CertifiedAverage</b></div><div>Columbus is in a good situation. Like Buffalo, they have an abundance of good young players and prospects and need to decide which will form their core. The rest they should use to trade for fewer but better players when such opportunities present themselves. Signing free agents can help too.</div></div>
Protentional is such a dirty dirty word. It gives hope but it's the hope that kills ya.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TMLBRIAN</b></div><div>I am in the small camp that thinks Columbus should trade Jenner. They could get ALOT for him at the draft. Especially if they retain 50%. I understand having good vet leaders, but a competitor would pay a ton for Jenner. Something I strongly think they should consider.</div></div>
IF we had someone ready to step up into his leadership shoes i would be ALL over moving him. BUT there isn't anyone yet. Now if someone steps up this season i might be open to moving him at the TDL or in the off season next year but not quite yet. If fantilli steps up like i think he might over the next year to year and a halfj then move him.

Camp2024 Vets are getting nervous
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TMLBRIAN</b></div><div>Ya he is a serious prospect.
There are some good pieces in there. They just need a true #1C and things will start falling into place. They have been using Jenner as a #1C but he is just a really good #3C.
Curious to see what they do. Maybe they would be a decent home for Lindholm. Lindholm + Jenner + Fantili is a decent trio. Could be a great trio if Fantilli turns into a #1C.</div></div>
Fantilli will be the 1C next year, He was on his way to taking it before the calf. (ouch) Silly looks like a lock for a mid six problem child C and Voronkov once he gets some faceoff practice look to be anywhere from a low 2C to a high 4C. God willing we win the lottery this year the future down the middle in columbus could be Fantilli Celibrini Sillinger Voronkov. Jenner could move back to the wing and I don't know how many seasons his back has left in it. Dudes a warrior but the less miles we can put on him now the better. Without Celibrini the future core down the middle is sold but not wowing. KJ could be a C option also if he can put on some lbs. Kuraly could be trade bait in the off season or TDL along with Provo and Ollie. All depends on how the new GM see the future.

That Jenner offer is going to need at least one more pick probably 2 with retainment for this season and 2 more. Sounds like a mill retainment this TDL is going for a 4th. So on those ground Columbus says no

Boone Jenner is the most overrated player right now
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CaseyFlyman</b></div><div>That's a good point about A vs C prospects, it's kind of a subjective measure and obviously depends on what the team with the winning bid has to offer.
For ADB, he's objectively the better player, but he also wanted out of Ottawa (Boone wants to stay, and the organization wants him), was an RFA (not under contract even though he was under team control), is a winger (not a huge knock, but a small factor), and now makes more than twice as much as Jenner. He was also traded over the offseason. The market for a player like that was a lot smaller, considering the teams that had the cap space to sign ADB long term are also not the teams looking to give up a 1st+ for him.
It's a little like trading for Monahan at the TDL every year for 3 years, except giving up those assets all at once.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafsfan98</b></div><div>I get it... But that's why I think a lesser prospect would get it done...
But I do agree on the 1st+2nd+prospect</div></div>
Wait wait wait WTF is this stuff. People having a rational well mannered discussion about player values and not getting pissy. You both know those kinds of things are not aloud on this site. 2 min in the box for both of you.

He's not "available" but Gm's will always pick up the phone to listen. Though this is the kind of offer that would at least get a conversation going.

Jiricek and Jenner sweepstakes
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CaseyFlyman</b></div><div>...That package doesn't even get Jiricek.
Same old same old: need quality over quantity, these guys are untouchable, etc. etc.
Boone = 1st, 2nd, Cowan/Minten
Jiricek = 1st, Knies, Cowan/Minten, Niemela...and likely more, considering we don't have a 1RD replacement in the pipeline and none of those pieces are that, either. He's a top-6 pick in a strong draft who's actually performing like a top-6 pick in a strong draft, and still raw with tons of upside.
If you want a 2C and 1RD for the next 3 years at a combined $4.7M, it's going to really <em>really </em><em><strong>really </strong></em>hurt.</div></div>
Not to mention Guddy who when played in the proper spot is living up to and in some ways surpassing his contract value. Chicago just resigned a big locker room guy for lots and lost of american dollars, Guddy is in the same boat.
