Strange trade for NYR, they are suppose to be contenders. And under cap constraints and they trade sold 3rd D man still on ELC. Laffy even though hasn't shown what draft pedigree inclines, is at very least a very serviceable top 9 forward.

It may take something like PLD and a top player, pick, prospect, etc... combination to get Barron, but I would do it.
