The Jets wouldn't be looking for a 27 YO in return. Replace Lehkonen with a 1st. No 1st, no Scheifele.

This is already a massive overpay for Scheifele..................adding a first (even replacing Lehkonen is too much). You'd be getting the equivalent of 3 firsts for a rental.

The deal would probably be a first and Newhook at most, maybe a B tier prospect or mid round pick added in. Lehkonen had a better PPG than Scheifele last year as well.............

Yeah, no interest at all in Lehkonen if trading Scheifele. He's too old for the rebuild. It's also disingenuous to call Newhook a 1st, he doesn't have anywhere close to a 1st round pick's value. Olausson is okay, but I don't think would return a 1st anywhere either.

But Newhook would likely be the Jets target along with a 1st. Colorado's 1st is presumably quite late after adding a 40G 1C. So, yeah there would probably be a good prospect attached as well, as the late 1st and Newhook isn't a ton of value. Maybe more for the division tax depending on the exact players involved.

So 1st, Newhook, something else. Basically nothing in this offer is worth forgoing the 1st.

As an avs fan I would hope my team walk way from these trade talks quickly...
