Going after top 6 Center

Created by: AgentWebster
Team: 2023-24 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 2, 2023
Published: Jun. 2, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Also, adding veteran leadership and experience players around Beecher to see what he can do. I also think if you put Lysell playing top six minutes with all stars, he is going to have a break out year and the next Bruins star. Bertuzzi signs with us because he’s getting a long-term contract and just a little off the top to be with a top contender again with this roster and for years to come.

Every team and player has a price no one is untouchable in the NHL. Just look at Wayne Gretzky. You will be getting a top 5 goalkeeper in the NHL and a top 6 forward former hart trophy winner to go on the wing with Drais. I think this is a win-win for both teams.

Oh yeah, why is that? Are they afraid of building a cup contending team?

Nugent-Hopkins is not the guy you should go after. I can name so many good top 6 center man that would be a better target than Nugent-Hopkins.

RNH has a full NMC and wants to be EDM, i know right 🤷🏻‍♂️, don’t see him waiving.

If he did, Ullmark and 3rd for RNH would prob be closer to fair.

Asking them to take Hall when they have cap problems of their own and a Jack Campbell problem if they trade for a goalie is pretty foolish.

Because we already have a logjam of wingers. If we trade a 1st for a player it would be for a C or a RHD

Edmonton can't just add 5.8 million in cap, a 3rd goalie and a player who hated it there in hall

Sorry, but if I’m the Bruins GM, I’m not concerned about other teams cap issues that’s for them to worry about but if they’re getting the better end of the deal, i.e. a lot better goaltender and a top six forward who can produce for about the same price then you figure out a way to move out other contracts. Again, it goes back to no one is untouchable even with NTC ect. If your GM comes to you and says listen, we really wanna move on from you because we’re going to be getting a better return and helping the team out eventually that’s gonna wear on you and you will want out no matter how much he says he wants to stay an Oiler.

Alrighty.. so, Nick Schmaltz, Ryan Hartman, Christian Dvorak, Ryan Johansen, Brock Nelson, Jean Gabriel Pageau, Kevin Hayes, Logan Couture, Yanni Gourde, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Mark Scheifele. All of those guys are better center men than Nugent-Hopkins. Nugent-Hopkins is strictly a winger in my opinion. He’s not good at all as a center man, and definitely shouldn’t be someone’s 1C.

The other team is concerned with their cap issues tho, which means they don’t put themselves in cap hell just to help you. On top of that you have 3 pieces involved with trade protection. 1 we know does not want leave EDM. 1 we know does not want to go back and really wanted to play for Boston. And 1 we have no idea.

You have a better chance of winning the Powerball.

Canucks decline. We don't have the cap space or need to be adding more wingers, especially if they're going to cost a 1st round pick.

Yeah, you guys need to find a way to ship out ANTHONY BEAUVILLIER. That cap hit is a dumpster fire.

I hear what you’re saying, but again, if that GM is worth anything, he would find a way to move other pieces to make the trade happen if everyone agrees with the trade.

Thanks for your list the only one I really like on that list is
Ryan Hartman and maybe Brock Nelson. Mark S is super overrated and doesn’t play defense.

Too much cap going to Oilers. Would RNH even waive? What about Ullmark's and Hall's M NTCs. God, I year of DeBrusk isn't worth a first to the Canucks.

So you think Sweeney could take on another 7m in cap with their issues to make a good trade right now? It’s not that simple.

Debrusk/Lysell for RNH/Savoie might be something that would work for both teams and only 1 NMC to deal with.

Regardless, in the end you are getting a #2 center that is better off at wing, is it worth it?

Not a problem. Understandable about Scheifele. He can be very lazy. I personally like all of those forwards, especially Hartman, Nelson, and Schmaltz. Just trying to help people out since I see a lot of bruins fans trying to trade for Nugent-Hopkins!

Yes, because when you look at the Canucks roster, the wingers are the issue. Not Nils Aman as a 3C, not Ekman Larsson and Myers playing top 4 minutes, the problem is a lack of wingers

What about DeBrusk, Ullmark, Grzelcyk and a 24 4th for RNH, Campbell and late 23 pick (which might make Oilers AND Canucks fans happy)? I don’t see ANYONE signing Lucia for more than a year, especially Boston!
