    Why would Miller sign that?

CBJ pass. They need a C more than a W.

None of those pieces, Are worthy of the 3rd overall pick. And it's not even close.

This actually is probably above what Miller would get, He's likely to receive above comparable to what Lindgren is receiving. I think its a fair contract I just think he'll get longer term

Lindgren got 3 years and 3 million aav. Lindgren's career high in points is 18 in his d+7
Miller just put up 43 in his d+5 season
Lindgren has the benefit of playing with fox, miller gets trouba.

Miller has an argument for significantly higher than lindgren.

You could make the argument that Miller might be the # 1 offer sheet candidate in the NHL.

Would it be outlandish for a team to pony up the 2024 1st & 3rd it would take to offer him $6.345m x 5? Miller would look pretty awesome replacing Skjei in the Canes top 4.

I think if the offer is under 2 first rd picks, the rangers likely find a way to match.
Miller and Laf are a clear part of the core and future of the rangers.

That CBJ trade is just horrible. Lafreniere is not anywhere near the value he was drafted at. These are just parts. The Jackets to move that pick would need a 1C that is no older than 24 and signed long term to even consider it.

Miller is more gifted offensively but comes nowhere near close to Lindgren defensively. Lindgren's solid D affords Fox even more freedom to do what he does. Trouba isn't gifted enough to cover for Miller when he goes all offense and forgets he is a left D. If anything, perhaps the deal has an AAV of 4.0 mil.

Offensive gifted defenseman who are even mediore at defense make bank. Miller put up 40 points with almost 0 pp time.
Lindgren isn't quite as gifted defensively as you think, Fox carries alot of that with zone entry denials and very adept puck movement.
Miller is the stronger defensive parter in that pair, trouba is just better at clearing the crease.
