NJ would probably still need to add a mid pick at least even if they are dumping Brodie and considering Nylander for Meier to be 1 for 1 since Smith isn't enough.

I could see Treliving interested in both players, but I don't think Fitzgerald would be 1) because there are players with Nylander's skill set/similar on the team vs Meier's and 2) the purpose of trading Meier would be so that they don't need to pay him 9M probably, don't think that changes even for Nylander.

Rather the Leafs keep Nylander but would be nice to see him play with Hughes.
