If the Jets Trade Helly and lose PLD you don't think they will go into a rebuild? Also Savoie is probably only a year away. He would actually probably make the Jets roster is they end up moving some of the Vets with only 1 year left on thier contract.

Even if extension were in place, that's an overpay in their new deals. There certainly are good UFA goalies available for 5m . DeMelo is nice but NOT special.

When did I miss when elite NHL UFAs (Helle) avoid free agency and only take 5 year contracts?

Someone will offer Helle 7x9 in UFA, don’t know why he would sign this….
