Byram has had multiple concussions. Leafs need a heavier defence. Not Byram.

Would you have traded 22 year old Nylander for a rental in 2018?

42. Do you know what the number 42 represents? That’s the most games Bowen Byram has played in one season in his NHL career. He also had seasons of 19 games and 30 games. Bottom line, if you can’t stay healthy, it doesn’t matter how good you are.

As i said, thank you for your concern. There is zero interest in trading Byram to TML. The matter have been discussed like a hundred times the last couple of days. Colorado Avalanche has ZERO interest in trading Bowen Byram to the the Toronto Maple Leafs. Period.

I know Arizona is collecting all the third round picks, but do we really think the famously frugal Coyotes are going to want to pay Matt Murray $8 million dollars for replacement level goaltending? To move up two rounds to the third round?
They like the high cap hits and low salary guys in deals like this. Not the other way around.

You're better off keeping Willy. Who even wants an affordable young defenseman?

Haha! Yeah, the narrative is so weird on here. But thank you for the laugh, the comment was spot on!

Do you think the $5m you offered him in this fantasy scenario is more than he's worth or that it is unaffordable?

Listen, he’s a fine player but an injury risk. As you said, he fits with the AVs and you’ll worry about the risk. As for his value on a deal to the AVs, I have no idea if you want to bridge him or lock him up long term. I would wager you’d want a 2-year bridge deal but his camp will look for a much longer term due to his injury concerns. That said I don’t think he’s in the 7-8 million for 8 category that some young stars have been signing for. Maybe he takes less in exchange for term. I would if I was him. Maybe 5x6 years. Not sure the AVs would offer that. There’s risk on both sides.

Galaxy brain moves. Avs need a winger bad with Nuke fleeing the country and Landy on IR. Puts them in win now mode. Makes the leafs deep as. Cup loading.

Yeah who would want a 40 goal scoring winger on a team missing a few wingers

Yeah and who wouldn’t want that said RENTAL winger if it meant giving up a 21 year old, #1 defensman.

Didn't realize #1 defensemen average 30 games per season. Byram is going to be a great player but the Avs are getting an elite winger back and would highly likely re-sign him, if anything, the Avs would have to add

”Would highly likely re-sign him”. After a week of discussing the matter, we still haven’t made it further than this... great. So, here we go again. Colorado CAN’T re-sign Nylander. It’s not possible. Please stop with this narrative. I understand that you would like to fetch a great return for Nylander, which you should i may admit. Colorado is just not the right match.

How is it not possible for Colorado to re-sign Nylander if they move Byram?

Re-signing Nylander in this scenario would mean that Colorado trades Byram, doesn’t have enough money to re-sign Toews and no money to fill 2C. Nylander i great, a true first line winger, but he would be a rental and Colorado should absolutely not trade Bo for a rental.
