Initial Creation Date: Jun. 6, 2023
Published: Jun. 6, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Not sure if Colorado would want to get rid of some salary in getting Hall. I just picked Manson because I don’t think they trade any other D men

CBJ might want another bottom of the roster player or pick

Signing Gudas and Bjugstad gives them some size

You'd be paying Chicago not Chicago paying the bruins

Manson is still a player though. He would be good for protecting Bedard. You’re gonna need to use some of that cap and you have 7 spots to use it on

The Hawks have no need for Manson full stop. They aren't going to help relieve cap for another team by paying for a player they don't have a need for. Seth Jones and Connor Murphy are already playing the right side and they have Zaistev as well who is only blocking prospect development on the right...adding Manson only complicates that problem. The left side is even worse with a logjam of prospects. Sorry, you'd be paying the Hawks to get them to take Manson.

And this whole "protect bedard" stuff is a crock. Plenty of players on the Hawks team that can protect him...that's not an issue.

Hawks might give up a 7th for Greer. But no interest at all in Manson for the reasons stated above.

I think some team can give you a better return than 2 fifths and two 4ths for Hall

Pretty sure hall is a throwaway for Boston this off season.. no way they trade Manson for him when the cost is much lower

What's the point of loading up on middle round picks? We can't draft for ****

I think thats a misconception. I think we’ve definitely gotten better at drafting the past couple of years. We’re just supposed to trade every pick and not make any? That doesn’t make any sense

I mean the proof is kind of in the pudding. I get that it's a tired term, but we have the #32 ranked prospect pool in the league right now. Lysell is not ready, Lohrei is not ready, the only guy who I could maybe see making a jump this year is Merkulov (and Bussi) and they are both undrafted college free agents

I think we’re up to 28th now. Go and look at the top 15-20 teams. Almost all of them have made multiple top 5-10 picks in the past 5 years. We do have some prospects coming up. Lohrei, Lysell, Merkulov, Poitras, Brunet looking like he might have been a great pick

You're more optimistic than I am, but I'm crossing my fingers and hoping for the best
