Hawks pass. Did you see what LAK just gave to dump $11M. Why would dumping $6.5M cost only moving up 1 round?

Cause they need some talent to surround Bedard. Mantha only has 1 year left. He also is a talented player who could still have major upside. Milano is a skilled cheap forward who could very well be a great fit with Bedard.

Why? I love JT but significantly younger and the first is a solid add.

Milano is not a camp dump. Mantha at 50% retained shouldn’t be a cap dump and there are teams that would be interested for a 3rd.

I think Miller is the better player, I think Strome is a decent middle 6 guy but ideally if we are trying to win with this core, Strome is a 3rd line center type player, i know he had a good year this year but i feel like that is an outlier, I just don't think 4 year difference in age is worth losing almost 40 points worth of production from Miller and Beauvillier, I also like Millers game away from the puck more than i do Strome's, Mostly in the Faceoff and hitting department which Is already a sore sport for the roster as is, I just think Miller can bring more to the team than Strome can, the 1st and Mcmichael are nice but I just don't see it as enough for us to bite from moivng on from Miller.

Lol LAK dumped statistical one of the worse goalies in the NHL for a 2nd and a depth defender. Basically 2 2nds. Mantha a useful middle 6 winger should cost significantly less. Your logic is funny

Lmfao Miller contract is easily one of the worst in the NHL. He making 8m till he’s 37 years old. He’s already had a 17p drop off also. Capitals will keep Strome and the assets. I

Youre either a used car salesman. Mantha is lemon in you're venacular. Overpaid, underperformed, broken down most of the time. OR simple delusions of grandeur right here.

In his last 104gp he has 50p. Basically a .5ppg player. He has solid possession numbers and a xgf% of almost 56% over the last 2 seasons. You’re either oblivious and only look at boxscores or an idiot who fails to understand what middle 6 means. Overpaid ?yes. Underutilized ? Yes. Doesn’t change the fact he would be middle 6 on over 60% of teams in the NHL 😊

You do realize WAS has the #8 OA pick, right? If the 8th worst team acquires a guy then steadily and consistently reduces his role and ice time on that team...means the 8th worst team in the league doesn't think this guy can help them turn into the 9th worst team in the league.

"Underutilized" is putting a slant on things...hence used car salesman. They COULD give him more ice time if they thought he was worth it. Their actions speak louder than our words, BUT additionally...now GMBM has made it known he's looking to trade Mantha...also no good for trade value.

lmfao it's not even the worst contract signed in the past calendar year.

Lol Washington had 44m on the IR this year. You really are clueless aren’t you. Maybe that had something to do with it? They also sold at the deadline. They were pushing for a playoffs spot still up until late March. Mantha and Lav didn’t mesh well. Like Vrana. There clearly a reason why he’s no longer the coach. The new coach has ties to a lot of the player in Hershey and will likely build a team with his guys.

Used car salesman lol. New to the capitals? Your logic directly applies to
Vrana
Stephenson
Seigenthaler
Sprong

Damn those players must all suck bc if they had value Washington would have played them more right? Lol again back to your idiotic logic. Mantha with less term and a solid middle six player (.5ppg player w great xgf%) would cost more OR equivalent to dump as one of the worst goalies in the league w term. Lol again funny / “intelligent logic “

Yeah… I would likely take Huber over Miller but that one also looks horrible. Signing a player at 30 to a 7 year deal never goes well
