I made an offer to Washington where we give them DeBrincat for Hendrix Lapierre + #40 overall + Washington's 2024 1st.

It was widely accepted by several ACGMers who are Caps fans.

The OP says there would be "some amalgamation of conditions since this pick is involved in the Monahan trade".

It's not clear to me what that would be.

All I know is that the 2024 1st would belong to Montreal if it's #20 overall or lower AND Montreal would rather have that instead of a 2025 1st.

Debrincat would be interesting in a trade for Carter Hart but Debrincat would need to be signed to 8 years.

Flyers should be rebuilding, not trading for DeBrincat.

Any return for Hart that doesn't include both a 1st and a 2nd should be unacceptable for the Flyers.

Both Tuevo and Taffoli are too old for OTT to want them in any Cat trade and OTT has less than zero interest in tanev

bratt for Cat works only if both player sign with the team being traded too

MTL is not going to trade 5th OA

Hart is not worth a 1st and certainly not worth Cat

Cat is getting a late 1st round pick, top 9 forward and b prospect at most. Sens arent getting more than they paid for him last draft

I’m becoming more aligned with the high visibility RFAs (PLD, Cat, Meier, etc) signing shorter term 2-4 year deals. I’m growing more willing to think the Canes actually make a trade for one of these players.

What if the Cames moved Necas one for one for Cat? Would Cat sign a 3 x $7.75m?

despite the Canes' fan proposal, the canes wouldnt pay half of that for Debrincat. That proposal was a massive overpay.

NJ definitely doesn’t have a problem fitting bratt and Timo. That looks like it’s just a what if, where the available cap is spent elsewhere

Depending on who the Top 9 forward and the b prospect are, I wouldn't mind that at all.

          1. Ottawa would accept Necas and a conditional pick that would materialize if the Cat scores 40 goals again.

          2. The Cat is not signing for less than Caufield.

If DeBrincat signs for 3 years as an example - there is not a comparable between the two. He will have an opportunity to sign another contract when the Cap is raised to as high as 90m as projected.
