Canes counter with future considerations…otherwise you’ll have to find a different way to solve your cap problems with one move. Canes certainly wouldnt trade 4 assets for an injury prone over paid 31 year old winger and a goalie who melts in the playoffs. We can get that without any assets in UFA

You are welcome to decline the trade on merit, value (you are actually underpaying), need, whatever.

However your evaluation of the players is off.

Hall isn’t injury prone, in 3 years in Boston he had 1 injury, it happens, he played every game after coming over in trade and then played 81 last year. Ironically Ullmark was hurt, right at the end of the regular season, did not dress 2 of the last 3 games to rest, the other was to test how he was. He was playing through that injury in the playoffs. I will always question management why they did not turn to Swayman up 3-1 to give him some time to heal. Saying he melted down without context is ignorant. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I don’t see Canes doing this. Better off re-signing Freddy or Raanta for cheaper AAV. But i can see a Hall trade rather easily.

Ullmark was chased out of the Canes series last year, and the Panthers series this year. If he was really hurt he shouldn’t have been playing. What happened last year? He is a career 3-5 0.888 SV and 3.54 GAA in the playoffs. I’ll take Freddie Anderson resigning in UFA over paying for Ullmark.

Hall has averaged 62 games played per year in his 13 year career. If you don’t like that view - he’s only played 75 games 4 times in 13 season. He’s not a goal scorer, he has average shooting percentage over his career. When he plays he’s a great playmaker, but that is what the Canes do not struggle with. Canes generate extremely high quality and quantity of opportunities - they need goal scorers.

Send Hall and Ullmark elsewhere

its a little more than I had hope to pay to help Boston's cap issues but its a talking point. You can throw in forbort too.

If we use our pieces to get PLD, could we flip him to you for a Swayman, Debrusk, and Forbort?

Bruins can get more for both of those guys if they trade them separately. Don't see tha Canes as a trade partner regardless

with their cap issues, Hall coming off an injury, and Hall controlling where he goes (if anywhere), that is very unlikely.

This was based off of an offer from a Canes fan on HFBoards.

That’s great, but think you’ll find that the Canes don’t often trade futures for players they can get without sending 4 assets the other way. They have players that bring what Hall does, and they can get Ullmark level goaltending via UFA.

The Ullmark point might be bold since he’s likely going to win the Vezina this year. The fact the canes can limit chances give them options…they don’t need a Vezina winner to win a division and compete for a cup.

I had the same idea a couple of days ago about putting them together to a Cup contending team and even taking 50% for Hall and even included Grzelcyk.
