I don't know where you got this report but Edmonton was unwilling to give up Bouchard for Karlsson (even before his crazy playoff run) so why would they give him up for a winger (who he had better offensive production than) that doesn't even fit Edmonton's timeline

Holland isn't trading Bouchard.

And fat chance of Connor Hellebuyck extending with Buffalo long term. He wants to play for a legit cup contender. And sorry Buffalo isn't one yet.

I think the idea is they would become one soon, especially if hellebuyck was their goalie

Guys don’t take this too seriously. It’s basically a dream off-season

Unfortunately it doesn't work that way, There's been several elite teams over the years to never win a cup. Outside of Dahlin and Power the D is still suspect. Forward core is nice but it takes elite D and Goaltending to win cup. The D still could be better.

Demelo and Ryan Johnson would go a long way to solving the issues on the blue line. It doesnt guarantee anything but it gives you a shot, which is what a contender more or less is.

I dont believe it was ever reported, just a fun mock trade on their podcast. Theory behind it was the possibility that edmonton wouldnt have the space to sign him.
