Kinda crazy to be trading 2.1m Jarnkork(who doesn't waive to Arizona) who is probably just and good maybe better than Brown who you signed for 4m

Save $2 million on Connor Brown and you get to keep Calle Jarnkrok instead of signing Milan Lucic.

He’s getting old and slow. I’d be worried about him like Giordano. Sign Kampf, Acciari,…stay away from Perry and Lucic they can’t skate anymore.

Perry would fit into a Simmonds type role on the team, only play a few games where they need to be physical

I actually think there is some valie signing Simmonds for league minimum and playing him 5-6 games a year. He can fight and when he’s in the lineup Matthews and Marner don’t get punched in the face. I’d play him against Winnipeg, Tampa, Florida and a few other teams that take liberties against the Leafs stars. Heck, even give him 100K more so he can take a suspension on Gudas, PLD, or Maroon. He’ll clear waivers so his entire cap can be buried.

I agree 100% but I believe he’s already set on retiring this off season, although nothing is set in stone

Jarnkrok is no where near the player Brown is..Brown has bite, kills oenalties and is a threat for SHG for..can play the PP (so can Calle I concure)..as speed that matches if not surpasses Calle, is more of a clutch player (historically) can play up or down the lineup (Calle is better suited for top 6 role, but hit 20 Goals for the first time in his long career, which is not wow (hence the 2M salary I admit)..he was invisible in the PO (Like many other bigger ticket players I also admit)..I like Calle, but would take Connor over him on almost evry occasion...he is worth more as well because he brings a lot more. (IMO)

Well I disagree, and Brown, I believe tore his ACL last season, to expect hm to be the player he was three years ago is iffy.

Lucic had a good WHC..said hed come back 1 more year...Tree Living is his old GM (so maybe we get him on the cheap), wouldnt be getting or expecting much from him in reg season..its a PO move (for both..I dont care if they sit most of the season, as long as they are good to go full throtle at PO time and pissed off at the world) They are being brought in for championship pedigree and snarl nothing else..we dont need no 1st place finish..we need a PO team who will be nasty

if other teams agree with you then hed also come cheaper than what he earned (3.6)..I didnt know about his ACL, but guys have come back strong from those surgeries and Brown is a competitor so i expect him to put in the work to come back good (no have I no relation to him lol..just always liked him as a leaf, was sad to see him go)

Perry is more than Simmonds..we disagree there..I love wayne, but no cup, no mvp, no world cup, no olympic gold, etc..The worm is a proven champion..sit him all year and insert him in the 1st game of the PO..thats why hes on this roster..same as Lucic (minus some accolades)

I agree they are slow..and the team could use more speed..I focused on PO experience..(and Im older and dont know much about the newer less known guys on teams that bring speed in a 3rd and 4th line role)
suggestions and why?

Yeah, I was sorry to see him go to. But he was the "gift" to the Senators for taking on that awful Zaitsev contract. The Leafs gonna back to Ferguson Jr, Burke, Nonis, Lou and Dubas have been awful with their cap management

salary dump and he should do better in AZ..not hitting 20 here again unless hes in top 6..but thats all he brings..not what the teams here needs..we have enough perimeter players with substantially more skill...that 2M better spent on a SOB who can crash and bang and maybe pop in a G or 2

Lafferty, Kampf and Acciari should be the 4th line. Can play against anyone. Kampf is good on draws as is Acciari. If they get stuck after an icing. Kampf and Accairi both looked good in the playoffs. Both PK.

You have McMann & Holmberg that can sub in when needed. McMann might surprise and steal a full-time spot.

I’d pay more attention to the 3rd line. Jarnkrok can fill a spot on the 3rd line at RW. He played well, scored 20, PKs, plays PP2 and is able to move up and down the lineup when needed. What’s really need is a 3rd line center that can move up to fill a top 6 LW spot when needed. Domi might be an option depending on cost. He can slot in on the 3rd line and move up occasionally to protect Tavares and Nylander. He’s a decent fighter.

Other than that you might need to look at a trade. There are not a lot of good C’s out there in UFA.

I’d also slot in Timmins over Stetcher. Timmins has all the tools, he’s still young and it will be interesting to see what he can do if healthy.

Do you think Holmberg has a chance to take that 3 spot? (more offence than Kampf?) if not, what do you think it would cost to get Laughton out of Philly?
