Trades aren’t terrible value wise but I doubt Buffalo goes out and gets Hellebuyck, they’ll probably get a decent tandem goalie like Raanta or Varlomov to play a primary role with Levi as a 1B, so they don’t get caught signing Hellebuyck to a huge deal that forces him as a starter for the next 7-8 years

Rangers say no thanks. The only way they even consider PLD is with a long term extension signed and Panarin going the other way.

Yeah not moving Chytil 1 for 1 for PLD. He may be the better center by a good margin, but Chytil is signed for 4 more years at sub $4.5 mil. I don’t think we could even afford to resign PLD even if he wanted to stay with Trocheck and Mika signed long term.

Flyers don’t want a 27 year old defenseman in a rebuild.

Pionk is signed for 2 years, and is also significantly more movable than deangelo. You dont take Pionk to get better, you take him to shelter your other defenseman to develop, and then move him.
Deangelo is trash defensively and likely needs to be shipped out due to locker room issues AGAIN, so he's on strike 4 now.

The margin between PLD and Chytil isn't that big, so no, the rangers wouldn't do that move at all.

You're getting a potential top 6 center. You're then paying a tax on the deal to get rid of De'angelo. Which is no firsts, and a swap of ADA for Pionk.
You then hope to get a first for Pionk.

Ahhh this brings back fond memories of the eichel mock trades, rangers fans overvaluing their middle six players

Middle six or not PLD is a headache who quits on his team when he doesn’t get what he wants. Not the player I’d trade for. And let’s not pretend that PLD was ever on Eichel’s level.

I seem to remember it differently with the "neck surgery devalues him significantly" look how it turned out for vegas, its okay to admit sometimes that players didnt hit their ceilings
