If Van ate half of both of their salaries and included a good prospect and Petterson resigned for under 10MM a year. That would honestly be close.

If Bedard ends up a McDavid / Crosby type this would be an underpay. If he ends up a Lindros / Tavares type, then it would be an overpay.

Two star players under 25 locked up for their prime and three A prospects would probably be enough based on that variation.

Honestly, I wouldn't touch that with a 10 foot pole. Bedard is going to be a star obviously but if he can even become better then Pettersson is a question. And I highly doubt the gap between them is big enough to even include Hughes
