Granlund costs significantly more than a 3rd to dump, which is essentially the value you have assigned to dumping him in that trade.
Also, there is way too much going back to VAN. Even if we try to look at it differently and say we are paying an inflated price for Garland and Boeser at a 2nd each for more value on the back end, and then swapping the firsts is supposed to pay for taking on all that salary, three spots just isn't enough to pay for that. Those three spots are the equivalent of a very late 2nd round pick, and you have CHI taking on $11.5M in cap hits, and $30.3M in total salary over the next 3 years. Personally, that is more than I would give up if we were swapping the TBL pick for the VAN pick, let alone the PIT pick, if PIT is even open to moving that pick to begin with. Probably have to remove at least one of those 2nd round picks or add something else of value coming from VAN.
