How is the value very fair? It’s a 1st round pick that’s 3 whole ass drafts away from a perennial cup contending team and a C+ prospect for Perron with retention….

I would say Foudy is ready for the NHL. I wouldn't rate him C+. More or less the value of a 1st and prospect is what I was getting at.

It's 1st being available to wings, when they start to compete again. Foudy will be a solid 3/4th line guy in a year.

That concept makes zero sense - so when we begin to be a competitive team in 2025, we get a late first round pick that may or may not even develop into a quality NHLer and we wouldn’t really even know for sure until 2029?

Trade asset. Wings might push for PO this year - likely not - Im guessing Tampa, Panthers, Sabres, and maybe senators and Bruins are ahead of them in division. It still a very fair value for Perron.
