Created by: JhonnyCanuck5
Team: 2023-24 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 15, 2023
Published: Jun. 15, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Lose the 2nds but keep 2 1sts and add impact players.
Leaves 5.5M in cap space.
Around another 12M comes off the books next summer, leaves plenary of room to re-sign Seider, Raymond, Berggren, Rasmussen, and te newly acquired Durzi.

Gives Detroit trade options at TDL and next offseason in Hall and Myers. Plus either Ullmark or Husso of Cossa is ready by TDL 2025. Fairly modest returns but free picks.

Edvinsson 2LD when he returns from injury.
Soderblom could earn a job out of camp this fall.
Mazur and Wallinder(and possibly Lombardi) likely make the full time jump in 2024/2025.

Teams looks like it could compete for a playoff spot AND sets up very well for the future.

McIsaac is a career AHLer so he has no value.

I don’t understand that deal for Boston at all. Like even if I try to squint and see the possibilities. No.

I don't know, he looked like a lock to be a top 4 dman before the shoulder injuries really set him back and I think he lost a lot of time just getting comfortable in his own game again. He had a good year in GR last year and could surprise people. I don't think the ceiling is as high as it once was, but it's not implausible for him to still forge a path to being a useful everyday NHLer, he's still only 23...

I’m not saying it’s good for the bruins, just that a briins fan made it so i decided to use it.

I know. I’m just saying I can usually look at a deal and go there is some rationale for it. Not sure I see that at all here

Either that’s a joke or you are the 1 who doesn’t agree to it. There’s always 1.

I have no idea. Maybe if the guy who originally posted it sees it as a way to free up cap space while not losing the forward spot and adding a D man. But even then, it only saves like 3.5 million. I didn’t have to understand it to accept it from him 😂

He is 23, drafted 5yrs ago and after 2 full seasons of pro hockey and he hasn't played a single game in the NHL. By 23 you'd expect to be called up at least once. It is possible but in a trade other teams aren't going to be as optimistic.

3 of those years were essentially lost to MAJOR injuries though and the last two were just getting back up to speed. It's not fair to judge him the same as another player drafted 5 years ago.

I think he could at least be Gus Lindstrom.
