Well you could say that for any player for short term gain. Giving up five rounders for one year of Pesce, might make the Oilers a bit better next season over a 4m Dman. Guess that isn't enough either to sway the Canes.

Yeah, no. Not even close. The idea is that Pesce will be available if his ask is too rich. As of right now they still want to extend him and this is one of the better offers I've seen, but the package for Pesce is going to need to start with Bouchard + 1st probably
