I can get why Carolina wants that package for Pesce. I think Buffalo will do whatever possible to avoid trading any of Peterka, Quinn, Kulich, Savoie, or Levi.

If there's a deal to be made, it'd be somewhere in the middle. Jokiharju, (Olofsson @ 50% OR Isak Rosen), 2nd rd pick. Carolina gets a serviceable young RHD, a skill winger either fully developed or only needing one more year in the AHL, and a better pick.

olofsson (even retained ) and Rosen are not interchangeable in terms of value.

I'm absolutely fine with Quinn, Peterka, Kulich, Savoie, and Levi off the table, but in a deal with Joki, it needs to be 13th overall. That's the only real way it works for the Canes

Rosen was 14 overall and is close to nhl ready if not. Rather have him than a pick

Hawks decline. They aren't trading away picks for a pending UFA they wouldn't want to resign.

Who cares, the point is the Sabres roster here, not the blackhawks. Sabres will be trading olofsson
