I think it's a playoff team but Stanley cup team I don't think so.

I mean the panthers weren't a Stanley cup team but they somehow stunned bruins and steam rolled everyone till they choked hard.

The Panthers were last years President Trophy winners and added Matthew Tkachuk. Beating Boston, while impressive, wasn’t that surprising.

The Panthers had more top-end talent, better depth, and much more reliable goaltending than this team would have.

No it was surprising, I mean the bruins steamroller everyone and fell flat. Either ullmark was playing injured or the pressure got to him.

All I know is the bruins are worse cap wise then the avs lol. I thought for sure all the deadline moves they made they would've won the cup or go deep at least.

False

Bruins were very deep forward wise and had more playoff experience.

Defense and goaltending was definitely suspect but they still should've went deep

What does that have to do with Florida not being a “Stanley cup team” they 100% were. And Chicago is no where near half of what Florida was this year even with these additions

I'm saying this Blackhawks team isn't as deep, talented, or stable as the Panthers. Lol.

What I'm saying is florida had no reason to be in the cup finals. I mean if you compare Florida's roster to the other Eastern teams you would see

O yeah of course they ain't deep but its a start and a quick rebuild when bedard comes.

I mean why would you wanna waste bedard for, I mean look at mcdavid, dude literally has no help besides drai. I'm surprised mcdavid hasn't asked for a trade.

You gotta surround your superstars or top players with talent to succeed.

Like I said. Florida was last years President Trophy winner. They had a really cold start to the season but made playoffs. If they had a normal start to the season, they would’ve been 2nd or 3rd behind Boston. While it’s impressive, it’s not surprising they made the cup. They lost few players last offseason and added Tkachuk. Their standings didn’t define them this year. Florida could’ve easily beaten any of the metro teams and Tampa bay alike this playoffs.

It’s def gonna be interesting to see what all these cap strapped contenders are gonna do. That’s why it’s always fun to play GM lol

No. And this is not a playoff team. Defense is simply not good. Jarry won’t make that much of a difference when the d isn’t playing well infront and what kinda offense of what just cat and bedard makes playoffs I mean Chicago has better offense than this before and couldn’t make playoffs. Kane, toews, cat, dach, strome kubalik is better than bedard, cat, monahan, Johnson, AA and Domi. Plus your bottom 6 is still horrible this team can’t rush trying to make playoffs.

FLA dealt with injuries all season. They would've had a much better regular season record if they hadn't. They also had one brand new player, brand new coaching, and goaltending issues, with Bob not really showing up until the playoffs and whatever is going on with Knight. Overall though, they still have one of the best rosters in the league top to bottom. Just because they squeaked into the playoffs, doesn't mean they weren't capable of going deep when healthy, which they obviously showed. But, in any given season any team could make or miss the playoffs, or can win on any given night. The NHL is weird in that way. Teams are generally a lot closer in caliber than teams in other sports, even if their record doesn't reflect that.

Also, I love DeBrincat and would love having him back. But it isn't happening, unless maybe he hits free agency next summer. Also, I think Cat might be kinda salty after the trade and doesn't want to come back.
