The isles can’t afford Barrie without Nashville taking back bailey and retaining. Since I doubt either team would come to terms on a trade like that, I’d counter with Bailey, Salo + a second for Cal Foote.

Duchene at 6 million is still a negative value. That dude doesn’t do anything to help a team win. Pass

lol no. no it isnt. he defense is quite poor, not a good lockerroom influence, and effort level is declining. there is a reason success isnt near him and generally better when he leaves. 0 interest from carolina

That goalie trade is very interesting. Don't know much about Lankinen, but his story of rising to a back-up goalie (with good numbers last season) from an UDFA is encouraging. Not sure I like the idea of dropping down two spots in the draft unless the Sabres foresee a prospect being available at No. 15. There's also a minor trouble concerning both goalie's FA status. UPL will be restricted (with arb right) at the end of the season, which still gives the Sabres control whereas Lankinen will be unrestricted. And then there's the cap hit which adds a million plus to Buffalo's payroll. Not a pure detriment to the trade but something that would be considered.

Just not sure what the upside would be for Buffalo in this trade, especially when they're dropping down two spots, adding more to the payroll for a backup and will need to shop for another backup goalie next off season.

"0 interest from carolina" & "Duchene at 6 million is still a negative value" are two vastly different points not to mention the rest of your argument is quite clearly based on a clouded personal opinion.

You're definitely in the minority on this.

Also, Columbus and Ottawa have done great since he left.

He had a 6.6 value last year, is getting booted from center because his play is bad, and is declining. Now he is a small, perimeter winger who isn’t enough offense to make up for his defensive issues. Is nothing to do with a personal opinion.

Why is Minnesota paying a 2nd for a guy that hasn’t broken 30 points? We don’t need extra bottom 6 players.

But all the success that followed Columbus and Ottawa when he left has something to say about it!!

That declining winger who doesn't produce enough offense has more points than any player on the Hurricanes over the last 2 seasons not named Sebastian Aho - even then, he had 142 points compared to 148. Get real

Not to mention, he has bounced between wing and center his whole career because of his speed. It doesn't mean he was doing bad, he was just more useful on the wing on a Nashville team that was doing everything it could to develop younger centers this year.

It's OK if you don't want him because he's older or think he doesn't fit the teams window, but you're just spewing BS that you know absolutely nothing about and look like a fool for it
