Quoting: Root
Rangers reject. Miller is a top LD, Laffy is a top LW for Nylander a top 6 C/RW. Robertson and Goodrow have the same value, mind yeah at least Goodrow will play for you unlike Robertson being on the IR.
I wouldn't trade you Laffy str8 up for 1 year of Nylander.
I wouldn't trade you Miller str8 up for 1 year of Nylander.
I'm not a fan of either team of any of the players involved. I'm as unbiased as they come here.
Nylander comes with an 8 yr extension, so you actually have him for 9, not 1.
Laf is not proven to be more than a 3rd liner at this point, but has upside to become top 6. Nylander was 20th in league scoring this past year and has 74 G the last 2 seasons, which is certainly top line quality. He can also play C in a pinch while being a RH shot which NYR only has 1 of out of its top 6 wingers.
Miller is a top 4 Dman, but not a "top LD". He could become a 1st pairing LD, yes, but I don't think anybody is expecting him to be a Norris contender at any point (which would make him a "top LD").
Lastly, Goodrow here is a cap dump, actually. Robertson has relatively low value in the scheme of things.
