He's a 3rd liner at worst. His numbers last year were identical to Gaudreau's. Doubt Minnesota pays a 2nd for him but he's only making 2.1M, so they would pay something if interested.

They don't need anymore bottom line players and apparently Brandon duhaime could be traded also. Bottom line player isn't a need

Could be a slightly cheaper replacement for Foligno though if they choose to move him. He is also capable of playing in the top 6. I think he's considered a top 9 F or middle 6.

Rather have SJ retain a lot for more assets, whether that's the leafs or elsewhere. Taking on Brodie and Murray should be worth the 2nd alone.
