That's quite the haul for a goaltender... doubt Blake offers anywhere near this much. I also doubt Trotz considers trading Saros the second he takes the job.

Saros is arguably the best goalie in the league, especially over the course of the last three seasons.

Part of what makes me hesitant is that Nashville reinforces their goalies, which means his stats are a touch padded. It's hard to isolate the variable of a goaltender's performance as it relates to the defense that plays in front of him.

The Kings need to clear $4M in contracts to make this work.

So they could move Arvidson and make this trade or move Arvidson and Grundstrom and offer Adin Hill $6M without giving up 2 -1sts, Turcotte, and Kaliyev. I'm not like a real life GM but I think taking the most recent cup-winning goalie (that the Knights can't afford) for a little over $1M from another cap hit that costs a fortune to move makes more sense.

I would say in years past this would be true. The past couple of seasons haven’t been the same though. The team in front of him (especially last season with all the injuries) hasn’t been good. Lankinen just happened to be very good last year as well, but Saros just about carried a team full of young guys to the playoffs.
