I believe somehow #14 has to be in play if we are taking Petry back. Retention isn't a big factor for wings

A 10 million cap dump will cost more than a 2nd next year and an AHL player.

Maybe to Pit he does. Not to anyone else after the combination of missed time and underwhelming stats he put up last year

ANY trade of Petry to Detroit is a cap dump, if it wasn't, why move him?

Honestly you could probably get Hellebuyck for less imo - but always better to overpay on this site lol. I think you're light on a decent amount of UFAs which is going to add up.

Using assets to dump Petry with retention and not replace him with anyone better isn't a good move imo
