JJ would be awesome but then Olofsson kills all of his value in this deal.

I don't think any Canes fan would complain about getting JJ Peterka. But keep Olofsson, just make it a pick, he's SUCH a bad fit for the Canes because he's a pylon

They want someone that can score 5v5... Olofsson doesn't. He's garbage defensively, he's not a good skater either. Just an awful player. It's why the Sabres are stuck with him

21 of his 28 goals were 5v5 this season...
He is garbage defensively, no disagreement there.
His skating is not as bad as people make out.
He is not awful, he is a 3rd line winger who does best with limited minutes and a play making center.
Sabres are not in a cap crunch so they can keep him, they want to move him to free up a forward spot for younger players.

Then Olofsson is your guy, only 14 of his last 48 goals have been on the PP. Give him a good 2 way Center and he could flourish. Damn when he played with Eichel and Rhino he had 42pts in 54gms.

He's a PP specialist. It's the only time he's actually good. By definition, that's a powerplay specialist. He's so garbage defensively that he's a liability everywhere else

Yeah he had 11 goals on the PP, but 25 of his pts were at 5vs5 that year. He's more than a PP specialist, he just needs the right situation.
