Turcotte or Byfield

Created by: Jupa08
Team: 2023-24 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 19, 2023
Published: Jun. 19, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
- I have done a couple of these based around trading Ullmark for Turcotte and a pick its been mixed responses but I think Ullmark for Turcotte and a 2 or 3 is fair value. Ullmark isn't overly expensive but if LA were to look elsewhere for a goalie my question would be what would LA want for Turcotte or Byfield in a trade that didn't include Ullmark or Swayman? Any interest in Grzelcyk?
Trades
BOS
  1. Byfield, Quinton
  2. Turcotte, Alex
Additional Details:
Not for both, just one or the other. I know this wouldn't get Byfield but Turcotte?

If LA traded Turcotte + 2nd for Ullmark, they would still be over the cap and need to sign Vilardi.

As such, the Kings would need to move Arvidsson, Iaffalo, or Moore to facilitate a Boston trade. But if the Kings did that, they would just go after Hill or Andersen. Ullmark to LA doesn't make sense unless Boston retains or takes a contract back.

I don't know about Turcotte but Byfield and Clarke are considered untouchable. Byfield could probably become available for a bonafide superstar C that is young.

Goaltending is pretty much the only big need for LA right now, so I do think if Turcotte is dealt it would have to be in a deal for one of them.

Yea you're not getting Byfield from LA unless you're sending back something you really don't want to.

Turcotte is probably not available until next summer. His trade value has fallen off because of his injury history and the Kings aren't going to sell low on him. If he has injury issues again, you can probably get him for next to nothing next summer since he won't be waiver exempt the following season.

Turcotte and Byfield are on different stratospheres in terms of value. Don't see LA giving up Byfield and Turcotte hasn't taken many strides since going pro
