Slow your roll. If the Sabres can sign Mayfield they don’t need Pesce. So you can basically wipe that whole trade off the board.

The great thing is he can go to Rochester if we decide that’s where we want him. He’s not going to go sign in Europe next year either.

I believe the whole idea of him requesting a trade from Carolina is that he wasn’t getting enough playing time in the league at age 22… He doesn’t want to sit and watch or play in the AHL.

The funny thing is what he wants doesn’t really matter. Carolina can send him anywhere that they will get the price they want, and that team can do whatever they like with him. Obviously he has to earn his playing time or he won’t be getting it wherever he lands. Feeling entitled to playing time as a 22 year-old who isn’t earning it isn’t going to endear you to any locker rooms. If he wants to demand his way out of the NHL instead, that would be a mistake in my opinion. But that’s always an option when his contract is up.
